And so we begin again

Another Summer, another bike ride.

The plan for this summer is to lead the first tour on the Road of Bones, and to make Sherri Jo Wilkins the first non-russian woman to ride the Road of Bones.

I am writing from a hotel room in Sokcho, Korea. An hour ago I was reunited with my motorcycle. I had last seen it 10 days ago when I dropped it off at James Cargo’s warehouse in Colnbrook just outside London. The last few weeks has seen the bike transformed from the tired old unit that finished last years marathon ride only 2 months ago into a near new, ready to go beast, complete with new paint job.

I flew into Seoul 2 days ago where I have been fantastically looked after by Joon, the Korean biker we had helped on last years Siberian travails.  The first night was a chance to catch up over beer and pizza.  The following morning I indulged in a quality brunch at the local Taco Bell:

Last night, however was Korean food night, and I was the guest of honour for the local adventure bikers group … guys who share the dream of travelling the world by motorcycle.  I put on a slideshow and was treated to fantastic hospitality – and a lot of beer and soju.

The guys (and girls) of the Korean RTW club have asked me to pass on their web page to other foreign bikers passing thru Korea and suggest that you get in touch.  Their club is relatively new and are trying to build contacts around the world and would love to meet and help foreign bikers visiting Korea.

Their web site is at:
