Back in Kazakhstan

I left Kazakhstan back at the end of October 2009, due to it being -15 degrees when I was in Astana, the capital. The bike was parked up in the garage of Astana biker Nikolai, and I flew back to the UK.

Well 2 days ago I landed back in Astana and with the help of Nikolai’s mechanic friend Dima, have got the bike ready to roll, to continue my ride back to the UK.

Sadly its still below freezing and icy here. The good news as as of tomorrow the temperature will begin peeking above zero for the first time this year. That will be my queue to hit the road.

Ideally I would wait another 2-3 weeks for more civilised weather, but the maximum customs extension I could get from Kazakhstan means I need to get the bike out of Kazakhstan within the next 5 days.
